Family spotlight!!

We have two awesome volleyball players in the family and I couldn't be more proud!

Being a sports mom is not for the weak!! (Cue the violin...) Between giving up my well-deserved weekends to sit on rock-hard bleacher seats for hours upon hours and forking out cash like I'm Rockefeller, I'm just barely making it. But the pride and excitement of watching my girls take home their championship medals made it all worth it!

They have grown by leaps and bounds since starting this sport a little less than a year ago. They've both grown into some pretty impressive athletes and I can't wait to see all that they accomplish.

Here's 3 things I keep fresh in my mind to help me persevere season after season through the triumphant wins and gut-wrenching losses, overwhelming busyness, and the sacrifices that come with being a sports parent.

1. The rewards are immeasurable. Your kids will never forget this time with them! They won't forget the victories, nor will they forget the comfort and encouragement you gave them after a tough loss. You are creating beautiful and lasting memories with your little ones. Soke up every minute because time is a thief!

2. You get to watch your children develop into great athletes which in turn will teach them how to be great leaders and work with a team.

3. You get to see them learn resilience through hard work, patience, and perseverance which will teach them sportsmanship and life-long lessons well into the future.

In conclusion, being a sports parent isn't just about supporting your child's athletic endeavors. It's about them knowing that you will be there for them every step of the way. You get to be their biggest fan!
