I've sworn by the L.O.C. Method since the very beginning of my natural hair journey over four years ago and now I'm using it for my kids too! Read below to see why I love it so much.

Most curly girls that "big chopped" knows your hair is very dry and hard to manage at the beginning of your natural hair journey (at least it was for a lot of us). I remember being so frustrated and annoyed at how dry my hair was. It seemed like nothing I tried worked...until I discovered the method that a lot of other naturals were using to combat their thirsty tresses...the L.O.C. METHOD!!! Yes! The L.O.C. Method saved my hair and made managing my hair a lot more enjoyable.
“The L.O.C. Method saved my hair...”
Within a few weeks of using this method to hydrate my hair, the look and feel of my coily hair began to drastically change .
What is the L.O.C. Method?
The L.O.C. Method is simply the layering of liquid, oil, and cream to your hair to maintain moisture. First apply water and/or liquid leave-in conditioner (which is your liquid), then a natural oil, and finally a cream based moisturizer or hair butter.
How Does it Work?
Water is a natural moisturizer. When you apply an oil on top, it holds onto the water molecules helping your hair retain moisture. Oils such as olive, avocado, babassu, sunflower, and coconut are oils that can penetrate the hair shaft and bind to your hair's natural protein structure. A cream based moisturizer is then added to close the cuticles and seal in moisture. If you're using oils that don't penetrate the hair shaft as well, such as castor, grapeseed, or jojoba, it's best to use your cream before your oil (L.C.O.).

And Now!

My hair has completely changed over the last four years! I truly believe it's because I have chosen a hair regimen (the L.O.C. method) that my hair loves and stuck with it over time.
Do you use the L.O.C. method? What were your results? Leave me a comment!
